I Love You With All My Heart

No Comments Featured Articles, Love Letters

This week I was sent this beautiful love letter to share with my readers. It’s titled “I love you with all my heart” and was written by Laura to Sam (yes I know, for once people were happy for their names to be shared!). So I hope you enjoy.

My Darling Sam,

I was reading somewhere on the Internet that writing a real love letter is one of the sexiest, most romantic things you can do for your lover. These days when we communicate in little bursts of text on a tiny screen, a love letter feels like something real, meaningful, and strong – just like my love for you. So I made up my mind to write this letter to you to let you know how I feel, and to give you a gift of love.

We’ve been going together (that sounds funny now that we’re a real couple) for about 2 years now, and I know it hasn’t always been easy. But at the same time, nothing easy is ever valued as much as our love is, so I believe the hard times have been worth it. Where we are today – just deciding to move in together and make our coupleness official – is a place I’ve been hoping to get to for a while. You see, I have known for the last year that you are the love of my life, and that I love you with all my heart.

Love letters for him

I use that phrase because I mean it in a special way. As you know, because you are a writer (how I love that about you!), words are very important, they have an effect on people that even they sometimes don’t understand. I have always been somehow attracted to the idea of the heart as a romantic symbol, but something more. It seems to me that we humans have an anatomical heart that keeps us alive by pumping blood through our bodies, and an emotional heart that keeps us alive by keeping us in love with the right person.

We both know what it’s like to have a crush on another person and feel it slowly fade away as we get to know that person better. With you it’s never even been in the realm of possibility for that to happen – our love has grown stronger and more real as time has passed. And I’ve felt my romantic heart grow in size and in strength too, so I know it’s in there, and I know you feel it too.

So, to say that I love you with all of my heart isn’t just a trite, cliched romantic-sounding thing to say. To me, it means that my emotional heart has found its path in this world, and that it is satisfied to keep working and getting stronger. My heart is full of love for you, and I promise to do everything in my power to maintain its commitment to you and to continue loving you as we move through this life together.

As time passes, I know we’ll face other trials, but we’ll also have beautiful, luminous times as well, and we will learn from everything that happens to us. As we love and learn, our hearts will grow better able to love each other and to give each other what we need to be happy.

With all of my heart,
Laura
