The writer states that among younger individuals, office romances are up significantly, with 85% of respondents saying they had at some point been involved in an workplace relationship. Evidently most people feel that the use of emoticons in text messages and emails at the office is a suggestive way to indicate romantic interest. Some studies suggest that these relationships may in fact be beneficial to business.
